The main alloying elements in 6061 aluminum alloy are magnesium and silicon. 6061 aluminum alloy is a high-quality aluminum alloy product produced by heat treatment and pre stretching process. Although its strength cannot be compared with 2XXX series or 7xxx series, it has many magnesium and silicon alloy characteristics, excellent processing performance, excellent welding characteristics, electroplating, good corrosion resistance, high toughness and no deformation after processing The material is compact, defect free, easy to polish, easy to color film, excellent oxidation effect and so on.

It is generally used for structural materials with load-bearing requirements or industrial aluminum profiles with welding requirements, usually in T6 state or t651 state. 6061 material in special-shaped extruded aluminum profile is usually used for extruded aluminum fittings with uncomplicated section.

6063 is a low alloyed Al Mg Si high plasticity alloy. It has many valuable characteristics: 1 Heat treatment strengthening, high impact toughness and insensitive to notch. 2. It has good thermoplastic and can be extruded into various profiles with complex structure, thin wall and hollow at high speed, or forged into forgings with complex structure. Wide quenching temperature range and low quenching sensitivity. After extrusion and forging demoulding, as long as the temperature is higher than the quenching temperature, it can be quenched by spraying water or penetrating water. Thin wall parts( δ< 3mm) air quenching can also be implemented. 3. Excellent welding performance and corrosion resistance, without stress corrosion cracking tendency. Among heat treatable aluminum alloys, Al Mg Si alloy is the only alloy without stress corrosion cracking. 4. After processing, the surface is very smooth and easy to anodize and stain. Its disadvantage is that after quenching, if it is parked at room temperature for a period of time, it will have an adverse impact on the strength (parking effect) in aging.

Within the composition range of 6063 aluminum alloy specified in the national standard GB / t3190, different values of chemical composition will get different material characteristics. When the range of chemical composition is large, the performance difference will fluctuate in a large range, so that the comprehensive performance of the profile will not be controlled.

Al6005 extruded profiles and pipes are used for structural parts requiring strength greater than 6063 alloy, such as ladders and TV antennas. Wait. The strength is between 6061 and 6063 and can be used in T5 and T6 states. It is also a commonly used material for extruding aluminum profiles. Some complex section profiles 6061 cannot do, but there are requirements for hardness. 6005t6 is usually used instead. At present, the solar frame is the most used in the market. Good solar frames are extruded with 6005 materials.
